Society Overview

The society was set up in February 2010 and therefore it is a brand new and fresh society. The main intention in store for setting up this student representative group is to do with the number of Bruneian students studying in Kent which is relatively increasing every year, whether it is in Canterbury or Medway Campuses so we hope by creating this society will encourage more Bruneian to enrol to this university. This society also has the main purpose to help new students to get through life in Kent and get them settle in so that they don't have to experience what we as seniors had gone through before i.e. confusion and lack of information. Below is the aims and objectives of the society based on the constitution made.

The Society shall exist to:

1)  Enhance the experience of Bruneian culture to members and non-members alike

2)  Promote Bruneians to enrol and study in the University of Kent and serve as an official representative for the university

3)  Offer advice to members on matters concerning the university and its surroundings

4)  Provide welfare support for current and future members of the society

5)  Organise events and functions with collaborations with other societies within the university and other organisations

6)  Become affiliated with Brunei Students' Union (BSU) as well as other Brunei student societies in United Kingdom
