Potential Kent students are advised to attend the annual Kent Pre-Departure briefing hosted by HRD Services. This will be announced through emails or through the BruKent Facebook page. The Kent International representative will be present to brief freshers (and parents) on what to expect upon arrival in Kent. Several BruKent Committee and society members will also be there to answer questions.

ONLINE ENROLMENT

Please make sure to enrol yourself online before arriving on campus. This is to avoid delays on your registration process. Please follow the instructions found on the Kent Uni website : http://www.kent.ac.uk/gettingstarted/index.html

What to bring:
Important Documents:
All documents should be ready in hand as soon as your arrive in the UK:
o   Passport and photocopies of passport (including visa)
o   5-10 passport photo with white background + soft copy
o   Photocopies of Identification Card (Original IC is optional but not required)
o   Medical report (with X-Ray)
o   A-Level/O-Level (or equivalent) certificated and other important documents
o   Acceptance letter from the university
o   Support letter from the Government (Private Students)
o   Scholarship letter from the Government (Scholarship Students)
o   Financial/sponsorship support letter
o   CAS Statement
o   Take note that you are to remember your Student ID No. along with your accommodation address in Canterbury/Medway

General Items:
It is important to travel light and only bring necessary items
o   Jacket/Hoodie
o   Few clothing items only (as you will be shopping for more clothes once you’re in the UK)
o   A set or two of Baju Cara Melayu with Songkok
o   A set or two of Baju Kurung with tudong
o   Stationary of your choice (cheaper in Brunei) - highlighter, mechanical pencils, pens etc.
o   Pen drive/hard drive
o   Instant packets/Instant noodle/3-in-1/choice of seasoning and spices etc. (enough to supply you during busy times)
o   Kitchenware e.g rice cooker (optional as this can be bought)
o   Travel pack toiletries
o   Personal medications and needs (if any)

For Muslims:
o   Jubah Hitam (girls)
o   Jubah/Gamis of any colour (boys)
o   Buku Yasin and Tahlil 
o   Al-Qur’an (with translation if preferred) 
o   Sejadah/Prayer Mat
